Kiwis 4 Democracy was formed in direct response to the arrogant and cynical handling of the result of the referendum on the Anti-Smacking Bill, by our Prime Minister and the Government. To ignore the clear wishes of 87.4 percent of the voters, which represents an enormous majority no matter what the Anti-Smacking Brigade is saying, is utterly reckless and a serious assault on democracy in New Zealand. Kiwis 4 Democracy will actively lobby to have this law changed and that democratic principles and processes are adhered to by our representatives – now and in the future.
